My fascination with the English Language Part 2- Random sentence

Wow! I checked and that is the longest title in my whole blog!

Well in today’s English language fascination I am going to introduce a random sentence that meant alot to me.

If I remembered it correctly, this words came from my former physics teacher back in the Singapore days.

it goes something like this:

“You won’t treasure a thing,

Until its..Lost”

to me these words are very symbolic and full of meaning..

This is why I like it: It cleverly uses the word “treasure” and “lost” and brilliantly use its off topic relations and makes it meaningful in such a short but sweet sentence.

The fact is, I’ve checked, of all the languages I know so far.. there is no other language than the English language, that describes it best and deep like:

You won’t treasure a thing, until its lost..

If its not lost, it would not be a “treasure” right? duh…

I better stop this blog, before you become my “treasure”, yes you my readers..

thanks for reading!

PS: Thanks Mr Chan (my physics and form teacher when I was in 3A Bowen)

  1. Right. It goes for serious as well for trivial issues; I didn’t care about my keys till the moment I was standing in the rain in front of my front door and discovered I had lost my key ring.
